my sep trip is coming to a close.. gonna be back in sg next week.. hmm.. suxxy... nothing really changed much for the past 5 odd months.. except i'm going back with new found experiences.. and i thank my parents for giving me the chance. They are actually here with me in Brissy right now.. but unfortunately i've been down with terrible cough and fever.. and haven't really accompany them... but nonetheless, i've got great frenz here who did the job of showing them around for me... Thanks Ryan and Hong Ee..!..

Going back sg gonna face loads of stuff again.. the one that's really got me headaches is none other than the theis.. yuCks.

exaMs staRtinG tmR

got about 16 hrs before start of exams tmr.. tmr french oral conversation, standing at 30% of the total grade i think, is my first "paper"!.. memorised my lines for the conversation loads of times during my "study"trip already.. hahAz... not too much of a problem now.. only that i gotta know when to say wat i'm supposed to say!.. i still do not really know what some of the dialogue mean.. so i'm just blindly memorising the lines and not knowing what the heck i'm saying... whatever.. so long as tmr turns out alright... =PpPpp

realised quite a number of frenz have their blogs as well.. pretty fun and interesting reading them... cos many a time, we don't really say things out.. either that or it's just difficult to find the appropriate time and occasion to say it... not knowing whether your frenz are ready to listen to your lengthy speech and problems... or pai seh to say some stuff.. sometimes it's just mere boredom that made u say all that u wanna say.. lotsa crap.. blogging allows me to say whatever i want and anytime i want, albeit with net access.. for this blog, it's been much of the experience i'm having in brissy... kinda like my own keepsake of the memories i have here.. it's a pity that i can't put up any pictures with hello!.. i've taken almost 8000 photos with my nikon camera ever since i got it this january.. most of which are taken in brissy... i'm a real forgetful person... needing pictures to remind of things that had happened... special occasions like celebrations, birthdays and anniversaries just doesn't seem to attach themselves in my mind.. can't really remember how i celebrated last xmas, xmas before last, 21st birthday etc... gonna make it a point to start taking snapshots =)

in the room alone... was reading my real estate management notes... till i got bored... sab's right... it's kinda dangerous when i get bored.. things happen.. ought to find something to kill my boredom when i get back sg.. learning drums... be a lil more IT savvy... mastering photography techniques and maybe just trying to recap all that i've learnt in my course may do me good.. instead of lazing around and distturbing pple.. hehez.. with the exams approaching, i'm flipping my notes more frequently... being yr 3 already, many foundation stuff they dun cover anymore, expecting you to have already mastered it in the earlier years... yet, there are so many of which i can't remember... finance formulas... valuation techniques have drifted away from me... ever since the end of their respective exams... i study for exams only.

jus got back from ... *ahem*... took a one week off from studying.. gonna get down to books soon.. first written paper's on thursday, 16th june... french!.. jEez.. it's really a nice language... but too difficult sia.. if only they got simplified version for simple folks like me.. that would be really great!... but they just gotta make it so tough for people to learn!.. can't even remember my verbs properly... hmm.. teach u guys the days k!!

sh and sj coming to brissy on the 16th!!!... hmm.. can't wait to see them!!.. they gonna leave on the 22nd though.. even before my exams end!!!... talk about bad timing!!.. how are we gonna play together sia???!

Hail Storm... jEez

apparently over here in Brissy, there's been a hail storm... something which i've never seen before, and i'm missing it despite being here!!!... wat a pity!... it's like raining ice.. NOT snow.. but ice.. hmmm... i wish i could get to see it!!! please have it here again.... pretty please!!

was having valuation class when it happened.. not sure if it occurred in UQ grounds, but it happened in a suburb nearby, Toowong..

1) Irin Ang aka Rosie in PCK wore a bikini!!!.. she's the ambassdor for Marie France!.. huh??
2) California Fitness having a 3rd club in Bugis Junction!!! yeA!... one more option... wonderz where my "1st motivation" will be allocated then...
3) Jay Chou acted in "Initial D".. i wanna watch it! will pester Glenn to dl it... hiaKz
4) Paris Hilton starred in House of Wax... nudging feeling to watch her bimbotic face!
5) Kym Ng is contemplating retiring after marriage... hmmm.. what a waste.
6) Fann Wong and Christopher Lee finally admit that they are together!!!... do i hear the wedding bells????... nice happy ending... =)

what's going on...

Time will always whizz pass when you are having fun... from my previous blogging session till today's, it's been about two weeks.. was rushing some development assignment (gotta develop a plot of unspecified land and build 5 flatted factories), this paper accounts for 50% for my grade!.. jEez.. it's was challenging completing the task since i'm oblivious to all the land and building policies they have in Brisbane, so i gotta start from square one. it wasn't easy, mind you!

Been to sydney and back... went to the Blue Mountains, sydney opera house, darling harbour, fish market, birkenham point, bondi beach, manly beach.. stayed over at Gary's at UNSW.. he's been a real sweetie.. yet things haven't been too good between us.

Next trip is to New Zealand... in about two weeks' time.. Auckland.. hmmm.. never ever stepped into the grounds of NZ, dun really know what to expect, except maybe something like the Blue Mountains, mountain ranges and greenery.. gonna be real cold over there.. not too sure if i can pull through! i'm already reaching threshold in Brisbane, what's with NZ?!

It's gonna be a lay-low period for now, not that there are any places that are of interest besides maybe the islands outside Brisbane like North Straddie and Moreton Bay, and of course the three worlds.. finishing up assignments, studying for exams... oh yea.. they're starting in less than a month... first paper's on the 16th june!... that's when the two monkeys, shihong and shijie, are coming over.. hahaz.. good timing sia! Parents are intending to make a trip here to Brisbane as well.. checking out UQ and the lodge.. must tidy up the place soon.. they are coming with tian... hmmm

Starting to feel weary of travelling.. it's good to stay put at a place and relax.. enjoy the quiet moments.. it doesn't need to be all-so-exciting the whole time.. taking things slow can be so enjoyable some times... jus slack around and do nothing, think nothing.. STONE.. i lurve it!

Things are a-o-k in the lodge and UQ.. wonderz how are the attachments going on for jie meis back in sg...

off to SYDNEY!!

taking a morning flight @ 945 to Sydney later in the morning... together with Hong Ee and Jolenn.. haven't been to Sydney before aside from a short transit way back ago... loitering merely in the airport.. finally making a trip there... looking forward to Blue Mountains, Darling Harbour and definitely the Opera House.. gonna take loads of photos!!.. will be heading to Canberra too!!!.. just to take a look at the Parliament House!... gonna be real fun!!!.. or at least i hope i wun miss Brisbane too much!! =PpPppp

my firSt freNch teSt!!!

jEez.. actually been feeling under the weather lately.. things hasn't been going as smoothly as i wish... but still it's alright... assignments handed up on time... tests taken.. there's another assignment due tomorrow.. gonna rush it out by tonight... about 1000 words to be puked out later after dinner... =P

just had my first written french test today... it's really like primary students taking exams.. hahaz.. sentence construction, fill-in-the-blanks and such.. listening comprehension... fwAHz!.. the listening comprehension was quite a killer... most of the time, i din know what the tutor was talking... jus guessing if it's vrai (true), faux (false) or je ne sais pas (i dun know)!.. hahaz... crossing fingers and toes that i'll pull through for this one!!!... shouldn't be too difficult huh???... *crossing real hard*

i had gone to this outback town called Toowoomba over the weekend on saturday with hong ee, ryan and samuel (an NTU exchange student that ryan met at the student exchange fair).... rented a car and took us about 2 hrs to get there from brisbane city... stopped by to visit the UQ Gatton campus as well.. checked the place out.. hahaz.. it doesn't even look like a campus aside from the few buildings that they had... it's more of farms and animals.. took photos of horses and cows.. it's really really cool to have all these farm animals on campus!!!.. must be even better to actually study them!!!... though, a point to add is that.. the place is really isolated!!!!.. HahAz.. you can just dream of a shopping trip there and it will never happen!!! We visited a number of places in Toowoomba... university of southern queensland, bird sanctuary of sorts and a japanese garden!.. probably cos we went on a saturday.. there were like at least 5 weddings receptions going on in the places that we visit!!!.. it was pretty nice watching the receptions and oaths taken by couples.. hahahaz... so it's quite easily to justify the beauty of the town with these ever-so-impt wedding receptions held there.. love the japanese garden especially!!!... the flowers are amazing! to end the day off.. we visited a race course and a rodeo show... race course was the typical horse racing kinda thing.. only difference from sg is probably the place has loads of kids.. more family oriented... it's more like a social gathering place rather than a mere gambling spot!.. the difference between asian ctries and caucasians!!! i would never have thought of gg to the turf club in sg!.. rodeo show was an eyeopener... the horses and bulls are raging with fury, trying to throw the rider off its back!!.. quite scary cos it's pretty dangerous with the fiery creature... hahaz.. but wun mind giving it a shot!!!!...

for sunday, we went to byron bay to catch sunrise intially... about 2 hrs drive again... was slping in the car.. hahaz.. cos it's in the wee hours of 2.30am when we drove out from lodge!!! it was bitter cold and all.. starting to think that my winter wear is really not enough!!!.. i'm so vulnerable to cold!!!.. we din manage to catch a nice sunrise thanks to all the clouds... but the strong waves hitting the cliffs is quite fun to watch... hahaz.. i easily fascinated... reminds abit of the journey along great ocean road during the melbourne trip... head off for beach and just shop around the byron bay town.. tk goodness chee ming was on this trip with us.. else we would have gotten lost over there.. cos the road signs are pretty confusing!!!... they can have "keep left" sign just under the "no entry" sign!.. how i know which ones i should follow?!.. but felt indebted to him as well.. hahaz.. cos he din sleep the whole night and despite having an assignment to rush out.. he joined us on the trip, making sure we get to the correct place..

Anzac day was on monday... 25th April.. or in French 25th Avril.. went to the Anzac Square to catch the Anzac Parade.. nothing fantastic actually... jus visit it once and it's enough!.. the people are just marching and marching on... it's a day to commemorate the people who perished in the World war 1 and 2... and whatever wars that follow... you see old veterans looking important in uniforms cladded in numerous badges across the chest.. jeEz.. the whole parade lasted for about 2 hours... i was bored after an hour into the procession... was quite tired after the parade and headed back lodge to catch more shows!!! hee

trip to sydney's on friday... pretty excited.. planning to go visit all the tourist spots.. darling harbour, opera house etc... together with blue mountains and canberra... staying over at gary's place while we are there... 4 of us going... my regular travel companion hong ee, defoe and jolenn.. should be alright huh.. hahAz.. gary had helped to plan this trip for us... tks loads!

involved in some social conflict here in lodge.. but still... i dun feel like sorting them out.. hate this kinda things...

it's a tuesday afternoon.. on my free day.. with nothing much to do.. or at least i hope there isn't much to do.. but that isn't meant to be... there are tonnes of work to be done.. esp my FRENCH!!... despite having 2 home tutors literally.. since they stay at the same lodge as me.. my french still suxx!!! borrowed books from the library to help brush up a bit on my own.. but those books are suited for bedtime stories!!!! fall asleep everytime i flipped the pages... hmpHz..

haven't been doing anything fabulous lately.. completed my first french essay of 103 words... like lil primary school kids.. with the help of Jon.. there are 2 frenchmen stayin here.. pierre and jon.. will make it a point to read the books i borrowed ltr!!!..

been to see some fireworks display last saturday at the conrad casino to commemorate their 10th anniversary.. nt exactly fantastic... preferred the sg national day one.. probably cos the ones over here are quite low.. nt like right high up in the sky.. but they had an outdoor public performance as well near the casino which was fantastic!.. the singer was good... there was a make shift dance floor... crowd was participating.. u see lil girls dancing happily with their dads who would swing them around... cha cha.. tango.. hahaz.. it's really interesting!!! u don't always see this kinda things happening in public in sg... took photos.. but.. haiz..

was at gold coast for my 2nd time on sunday... with hong ee, jon and his frenz.. 'seal-va'.. alright la.. jus go suntanning abit.. been too fair of late.. don't like the colour.. so went to tan abit.. before winter sets in... although it's like sunny.. the weather is really quite cold.. the wind will make u tremble a bit... i've come to realise i have very low threshold for cold.. been slping with jackets on these days.. and it's only autumn!!!... think gonna freeze to death in winteR!

no more assignment due this week.. but there are three next week!!!!!!

my industrial valuation report... DONE!

yea!!!... i'm almost done with my industrial valuation report that's due on thursday... and it's only tuesday now!!.. hee.. normally i do last minute work, but this time i'm 2 days ahead! *beams* all thanks to darren who's really a great great help!... he's amazinG!

went to catch Avril Lavigne last night with frenz @ Brisbane Entertainment Centre... suppose to start at 7.30pm.. started around 7.40pm with some unknown band that played their songs till about 8.15pm.. and Avril only made her appearance around 8.35pm... there's suddenly a break in between the performance, which is very unlike those concerts that I've attended in the past in sg.. It's like a low-budget kinda production... no fancy costumes, dance works... so typical of Avri.. hehEz.. but that's precisely the thing that i like about her! no huss and fuss.. we were at the standing arena, which was right in front of the stage!... stood throughout.. with Avril so close to us!.. or at least it's the closest that I got to the celebrities performing on stage! there wasn't much of a crowd.. no big who-ha.. no need to queue early to get best spots.. but the people do get high pretty fast!.. hahaz.. in no time, they were screaming and shouting.. not to forget, some of the fans, both guy and gals, took the effort to dress like her (for gals) and decorated their shirts with big "avril lavigne" for guys... the gig ended around 10.15pm.. which was pretty early.. a mere one and a half hr performance.... shortest that i've ever attended!!

Ryan, Hong Ee and myself went to Darra to take a look at their Little Vietnam (nothing fantastic) and headed for Ipswich Festival last Saturday @ Ipswich.. duhz.. it's a pretty much small yet prominent suburb... the parade lasted for more than an hr with over 70 floats on display.. We headed for the UQ (Ipswich) campus as well... it's a really nice place, and it doesn't even feel like school!!!... it looks more like some sanctuary away from the city!! It's really great!!... the library is what really struck me most!.. it has a mini stream and foresty kinda place in the middle of the place.. which is really really cosy and relaxing... imagine studying till your head goes bonkers only to hear the trickling sound of water and greenery just beside you!! I LOVE THE LIBRARY!!!

... hmmm... planning where to go this weekend... maybe toowoomba????

pharmacy- science or medicine?

early this morning during breakfast, there was an intense discussion at the table as to if pharmacy is under the branch of medicine... i know they're related.. but is pharmacy a subset of medicine???.. the wager: 7 days' worth of bread spread... hee... i admit i've been too lazy to spread my own bread.. pple told me honesty pays.. bleHz.. so eventually i went on to check nus website... which says it's under the faculty of science, not medicine... in uq, it's under the school of health.. together w medicine.. oh well... it's ambigious... since that's the case, me and glenn are quits... no need for yogurt nor bread... so much for lazy bones... hee

know you guys been eager to check out the photos that i took during the adelaide and melbourne trip... BUT... i can't seem to start the hello site.. where i normally upload the photos.. so guess it's gonna be a while before i can put up any photos yah.. meanwhile... bear with my crap!!!.. i know you guys enjoy it!!.. haHaz.. puKez.. all 5 of us, myself, ryan, hong ee, defoe and gary took loads of photos with ryan leading the pack... of course.. we took on average about 1000 photos a day... no joke!! my harddrive is bursting with photos.. wait till it crashes.. i'll cry!! we visited the adelaide city, flinder ranges, barossa valley, mt gambier, great ocean road and melbourne city all in 8 days!!! yepz.. it's quite a fun trip... visiting new places and walking loads!!!... walked and walked till my heels are cracking real badly... wat to do.. me and my fetish for thongs... and surprisingly melbourne and adelaide is not as cold as i had expected... it's only the time where me, gary and ryan woke up in the wee hours of morning and went to catch sunrise at apollo bay along great ocean road....it was really really freezing!!! but the photos we took were excellent!!!.. worth the braving the cold!!!... will try to upload the photo when i can k!!

hee... looking forward to the sydney trip at end of month...

i've been catching movies over in the lodge... robots, ms congenality 2, hotel rwanda.. and be cool is on the cards tonight.. hee.. yepz yepz.. i'm like a movie freak here, erm.. tho not as much as glenn!!!.. hotel rwanda is really heartbreaking.. you see people getting killed just cos of differences... discrimination and all that.. hmmm.. kids involved as well.. it was quite stunning to think that pple kill kids to completely eliminate the regeneration possiblity... it's like they kill young, so they won't have the chance to produce more of their kind in future.. wat a load of rubbish!!!

school's quite hectic now... with assignments due dates coming up... but hee.. pass/fail ah.. grades dun really matter ah... lucky i met darren, who's studying valuation module with me... hee.. he's quite slack though.. but good enough for me to use his work as template for mine.. hahaz.. frankly, the policies of australia and s'pore are different lo... so abit difficult to apply what i've learnt in s'pore to here.. vice versa..

know all my frenz in s'pore are having their exams soon... in this month... hmmm... good luck to you guys k!!!... study hard hard... after that.. can come over brisbane and visit me!!!!.. ok ok????
